[Thomas Edison – Phonograph] Cabinet Photo by Brady. 4 ½” x 6 ½”. The photo was taken on April 19, 1878 the day after Edison presented his second model of the tinfoil phonograph to the National Academy of Science in Washington, D.C. Backstamp indicates the photo was taken at Matthew Brady’s studio at 625 in Washington, D.C. These were sold to the public by Matthew Brady with an agreement for Edison to refrain from additional sittings with competitors. A narrative of the photo has been taped to the back. Some light mounting traces in upper corners and two small pinholes at lower corners. A nice, clean image.
