Ebenezer Huntington (1754 - 1834). Continental Army officer during the American Revolution serving from 1775 - 1783. , Congressman from Connecticut, Brigadier General in the U.S. Army during the Quasi War with France. Huntington was present and witnessed the Surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. ADS. 9 1/4" x 14". September 1, 1782. Huntington certifies the service "that Stephen Betts, Capt. Elisha Hopkins, Capt. Sam Williams, Lieut. Isaac Hector, Lieut. Mathew Gregory & Doctor John Prose of the 3rd Connecticut Regt. were in service from the 1st of Jany. 1780 to the 1st of Jany. 1782 in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army. Additionally he certifies that Capt. Hezekiah Rogers of the 3rd. Conn. Regt. was in service as the above mentioned officers...Huntington has signed twice. Accompanied by the partly printed Army pay order for Williams. A fine pair.
