1876,New York. Stock certificate for one share. Blue/Black. Engraved vignette of a steam locomotive at top center, nice portrait vignette of Frederick Billings at bottom. Issued to and signed on verso by General George Stark (1823 - 1892). During the course of his career, General George Stark, the grandson of Major General John Stark, was involved in numerous railroad ventures. Among other posts, he served on the committee that reorganized the Northern Pacific in the wake of the Panic of 1873. Punch cancellation in certificate not affecting Stark's signature. Extremely Fine.
